I think we will give them a severe beating after last weeks loss.

TEAM NEWS

David Silva is expected to return for Manchester City, having missed the loss at Liverpool last weekend due to a stomach problem.

Fabian Delph was forced off with a knee injury at Anfield and is set to be replaced by Danilo, while Vincent Kompany could miss out again.

Dwight Gayle faces a fitness test for Newcastle after picking up a knock in the 1-1 draw with Swansea.

Florian Lejeune is doubtful with a foot injury and Jesus Gamez remains out.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY

Pep Guardiola on the Alexis Sanchez transfer situation: "He [Sanchez] is still an Arsenal player and it looks like he will go to United, so congratulations and good luck to them.

"My opinion of Alexis remains the same. It was a pleasure to be with him at Barcelona. He has decided to move on to another club and I wish him all the best."

Rafa Benitez: "When I was talking to Mike Ashley, he told me the takeover would not go through.

"We are doing what we have to do in this transfer window and preparing for the game.

"In terms of training, nothing changes. In terms of the transfer window, we have targets, we have names and we are trying to progress."

I haven't watched a full game in a while and after a few minutes it was clear we were going to have to work hard to get a goal  boring tactics from Newcastle but i suppose it was understandable a good score considering how big the bus was they parked and i was impressed with Zinchenko he got some decent crosses in.

Zinchenko had a fine game apart from his lapse leading to their goal.

Newcastle are a poor team with very negative tactics as we saw again.

However we have a major problem with attacking corners - we had 18 yesterday yet pretty much every corner we had was wasted.

As for their fans chanting to us Where Were You WWWS well I am astounded by their hypocrisy!

I like this Zinchenko kid. Yeah, he might have had a defensive lapse in not recognizing the run of Murphy but he did more than alright.
